Single Tooth Implants
If you have missing, failing or hurting teeth, you may want to consider dental implants. Implants placed by Dr KJ Sturhahn at Buffalo Prairie Dental can offer you high quality implants that look and feel like natural teeth.
Dental implants are a highly desirable way to permanently replace missing teeth. Unlike removable partials or complete dentures, implants are affixed to the jaw bone and do not come out. Dental implants provide stability and support for your mouth and nobody will know you do not have your natural teeth because they look and feel natural.
Dental implants are essentially a root replacement system where the implants are placed where the roots of your teeth used to be. This relatively simple procedure is performed by Dr KJ Sturhahn right in our Buffalo Prairie Dental offices in both Quincy and Keokuk. You will be made comfortable and relaxed while Dr. KJ Sturhahn performs the procedure. Afterwards, you will probably experience some soreness for a few days, but typically far less soreness than when the teeth were originally removed…in fact, many of our patient return to work the same day the implants are placed! Over time the bone will bond to the implants and you will not even know they are there.
Producing teeth that look and feel natural can be a difficult task. Buffalo Prairie Dental can provide you with a natural looking restoration that perfectly matches your other teeth. Once in place, these implants will function just like your natural teeth as they are rock solid, stable and permanent giving you a smile you will be proud of!
It doesn’t matter if you have one missing tooth or a mouth full of missing teeth. Dental implants can replace all of those teeth with a natural looking tooth that is strong and durable. Titanium metal is used for the post because titanium is compatible with bone and other oral tissue.
There are several reasons you might want to strongly consider dental implants. You may be missing one or more teeth. That missing tooth may be irritating to you when you are eating or it may show and detract from your smile. By replacing missing teeth with dental implants you will have better support and stability when chewing. You can replace your confidence along with your teeth. You can smile again because you have a full set of teeth that look and feel natural.
Dental implants are not something new. They have been around since 1952, but they have only gained in popularity in recent years. As more and more people are living longer they find they have had to have teeth extracted for one reason or another. Tooth replacement means a partial plate, full dentures, bridges, or implants. Implants offer the most natural solution because the bone bonds to the titanium post and becomes a permanent solution with beautiful and fantastic long term prognosis in most cases. In fact, as they are all from this area, you may recognize our patients who have generously allowed us to share their Before & After photos with you to help you better understand the benefits of implants!
