KJ and his staff are so kind and helpful. I love having someplace here in town that I can go and get such professional dental help. I would recommend this practice to anyone old or young. They are friendly, explain everything and will work with clients on payments.

Great Experience

K.J. and all the staff helped make my experience great! I hadn't been to the dentist in over 3 years because of experiencing bad visits with previous dentist. I finally made an appointment. The first visit was x-rays and exam to see what I needed. The tech kept me informed of what she was doing and was very kind. The next step was to talk to K.J. and get a few teeth repaired. His main concern was to make sure I had no pain during the procedures. I would recommend them to everyone. My next visit to the dentist I'm not nervous about anymore. Thanks to all the staff!

The personnel at Buffalo Prairie are fantastic. They are all very friendly, professional, upbeat about their responsibilities and working relationships and make me feel very comfortable and relaxed. They care about their patients not only professionally but personally. I have never experienced any discomfort or issues with x-rays, cleaning, replacement of crowns, fillings or any other necessary dental work. I would recommend Dr. KJ and his staff at Buffalo Prairie for any and all types of dental care.

First Visit

I came for a cleaning and went through a battery of tests prior to the cleaning, and almost had to make a second appointment. I understand the need, and it was correct, but this wasn't explained prior to my arrival. When I made the appointment it was for a simple cleaning. During the testing, without warning someone stuffed something in my mouth, and when I chocked was told I was sensitive and had to have a different type of x-ray done. Still not sure what happened here, it was pretty quick and I don't know to this day what was initially stuffed in my mouth. Got up from the cleaning and someone stuffed something in my mouth. Was later charged $25 for my "Fluoride Treatment" I may or may not have had this reversed. Though it was my second cleaning of the year, I was was either charged my $25 annual deductible again, or maybe it was the fluoride come back to haunt me. Possibly the rates were high enough that this was back billed beyond the insurance rate and agreement. I got a quote for invisaline braces that was $3000 higher than my previous dentist a few months earlier. I had an estimate for dental work including multiple crowns, a couple fillings, and 1-2 root canals totaling some $7000, most of it out of pocket. That was way above my budget so I've been commuting on weekends back to the Chicago area to my previous dentist with 1 root canal (almost zero) one crown, and a replacement filling for a total of around $900 out of pocket after insurance. The people were nice, things happened fast if it was your first visit. If you've been there before and know what is coming it might be OK, but coming in cold, I wasn't prepared for the unannounced stuffing of items down my throat and into my mouth. The people were all nice, friendly and accommodating. The equipment modern and well kept. The dentist was awesome, and the cleaning went well. I have nothing but respect for the staff. From my point of view there were a lot of people there, and this seems to be what lead to rates far and above any of my last four dentists (one each next to where I worked at the time) I have nothing against the work, and perhaps if I didn't have 3-4 kids in college the next 3 years I may have paid the extra for the convenience of having the oral work performed at Buffalo Prairie. Right now however it is significantly beyond my budget. Oh yes, I had to make arrangements for the transfer of information between dentists. I called and was told Friday was available. By good fortune someone showed up and helped me out. She told me that she was only there to do billing and that there were no office hours on Friday in the winter. Which makes me wonder if I didn't have meetings that crushed my appointment this coming Friday, if there would have been anyone at the office anyway! Just thought I'd let you know my experience.
